Company commits to a three-tier data architecture for industrial AI, with royalty-free access to safety learnings for every participating operator
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA and SINGAPORE — July 30, 2026— EON AI Ventures today published the EON Data Rights Standard, a written commitment governing how the company handles operational data captured in industrial environments. The standard establishes that customers retain full ownership of all data that identifies their operations, personnel, sites or commercial position, and that EON’s rights extend only to de-identified safety and reliability patterns.
The standard rests on a single principle: the customer keeps the story, EON keeps the pattern.
Under the standard, every participating operator receives EON’s full body of de-identified patterns back free of charge and in perpetuity — meaning an operator’s systems continue to improve from work performed at other organisations and in other industries, without further payment.
Industrial AI depends on data generated by people doing dangerous, skilled work — technicians isolating equipment, crews executing permits, engineers diagnosing failures. That data is among the most sensitive an operator holds. It reveals how facilities run, what they cost, and where they are vulnerable. “We took the position early that data rights are not a negotiation, they are a foundation,” said Dan Lejerskar, Founder and Chairman of EON AI Ventures. “An operator’s data is theirs. What we ask for is much narrower and much more valuable to everyone: the right to learn that a certain class of equipment fails in a certain way, and to carry that pattern to every other worker who might be standing in front of the same machine. That is how we stop repeating fatalities across an industry.”
The three tiers
- Customer Data — all raw capture from a customer’s operations, including video, sensor and telemetry streams, personnel records, site and asset identifiers, and equipment configurations. Customer-owned. Never leaves their tenant. Not licensed to EON for any purpose, including model training.
- Derived Insights — analysis specific to a customer’s sites, crews or assets. Customer-owned.
- Generalized Learnings — de-identified, non-attributable patterns such as equipment failure modes by class, procedural deviation patterns and human-error taxonomies. EON-owned — limited to safeguarding personnel, equipment reliability and workforce competency — and licensed back to every participating customer royalty-free, in perpetuity.
Safeguards
The standard commits EON to four controls that participating operators can verify:
Multi-source threshold. No pattern enters the generalized layer from a single source. A learning qualifies only when observed at two or more unaffiliated organizations, or when already published in a recognized industry standard.
Categorical exclusion. Production volumes, unit costs, yields, formulations, reservoir data, turnaround schedules, capital plans and vendor terms are excluded by definition, not by discretion.
Customer review. Operators receive a thirty-day window to inspect candidate learnings before publication, with the right to withhold specific items.
Safety disclosure duty. Where EON identifies a pattern with life-safety implications, both parties are obligated to allow its disclosure. Neither may suppress it.

Royalty-free reciprocity
Every participating operator receives perpetual, royalty-free access to the complete generalized corpus — including learnings contributed by others, and across EON’s other served sectors, which currently include mining, aerospace maintenance and clinical training. An operator joining the standard is a net receiver from the first day. Unlike conventional enterprise software, which is static between releases, a participating operator’s system improves continuously from work performed elsewhere at no additional cost.
“A failure mode discovered on a pump in a refinery is the same failure mode on that pump in a mine,” said Lejerskar. “Keeping that knowledge locked inside one company doesn’t protect anybody. It just means the next crew learns it the hard way.”
Approach
The standard is modelled on established industry practice for pooled safety information, including incident data sharing among oil and gas operators, process safety collaboration in chemical manufacturing, and confidential reporting systems in commercial aviation. The architecture is designed so that shared learning is non-attributable and excludes competitively sensitive information.
