EON AI Ventures Introduces EON Universal, Facility-Agnostic Field Intelligence, Turning Frontline Workers into Instant Experts at Any Industrial Site

New Work Intelligence approach recognizes equipment on sight and guides low-experience workers through expert procedures — built on a composable component library rather than site-by-site programming.

IRVINE, CA — June 24, 2026 — EON AI Ventures today introduced EON Universal, Facility-Agnostic Field Intelligence, an approach within its Work Intelligence platform that allows a worker to enter any industrial facility — including one never seen before — and receive expert, step-by-step guidance through assisted-reality glasses or tablets.

The system recognizes the equipment in front of the worker, understands how it behaves, and composes the correct procedure on the spot, putting decades of structured expertise behind a person who may have only weeks of experience.

The approach targets one of heavy industry’s most pressing problems: a generation of operators and maintenance engineers is retiring, taking with them tacit knowledge that was never written down, while the workers replacing them are far less experienced — in environments where a wrong action is a safety and reliability risk, not merely an inconvenience.  The technology, architecture, and workforce transformation strategy behind this approach are detailed in the accompanying white paper, EON Universal: Facility-Agnostic Field Intelligence.”

Composition, not enumeration

The central engineering idea is what makes the vision practical. Rather than attempting to model thousands of individually engineered facilities — an effectively unbounded problem — the system captures a finite library of roughly fifty core equipment classes, such as pumps, compressors, separators, heat exchangers, valves, and instruments. Because any facility is an arrangement of these known components, a never-before-seen site becomes a new configuration of familiar parts:

  1. the system recognizes the components,
  2. infers how they connect, and
  3. composes guidance accordingly.

The component library is anchored to ISO 14224, the petroleum, petrochemical and natural-gas industry standard for equipment taxonomy and reliability data. As a result, the system’s output maps directly into the maintenance and reliability data structures that major operators already use — it speaks the customer’s data language from the outset.

“You don’t program five thousand locations — you program the vocabulary the locations are built from,” said Dan Lejerskar, Founder and Chairman of EON AI Ventures. “Once the system truly understands the components, it can walk a new worker through a facility it has never seen and give them the judgment of someone who has been doing the job for thirty years. That is how you close the expertise gap at the speed industry actually needs.”

A platform that compounds with every job

Facility-Agnostic Field Intelligence is delivered through EON AI Ventures’ Intelligence Flywheel.

  1. Genesis captures expert knowledge and structures it into a reusable, machine-readable competence record for each component.
  2. Field IQ delivers that competence at the point of work through assisted-reality glasses.
  3. Assess IQ measures whether the work was performed correctly and whether the guidance itself was right, and
  4. Compound IQ feeds verified outcomes back into the system, so every job at every site improves the competence library for the next worker.

Two governing layers ensure the system is safe to put in front of inexperienced workers.

  • EON Conductor routes each task to the right model and knowledge, while
  • EON Verdict acts as a trust gate — deciding when guidance is confident enough to give and when the system must stop and escalate to a human.

On safety-critical equipment, the system is designed to hand off to a person rather than guess.

The company is explicit about what the technology does and does not do today. The recognize-and-guide capability is deliverable on current AI and realistically advances a new hire toward the competence of an experienced multi-year technician on routine and many non-routine tasks. Full veteran-level judgment in rare, novel upset conditions is treated as an objective the system approaches over time through its compounding data loop — not a claim made for day one.

“We are not pretending to replace thirty years of experience overnight,” said Mats Johansson, President of EON AI Ventures. “What we deliver on day one is a reliable, well-guided technician — and a system that demonstrably gets smarter with every job. That compounding is the part general-purpose AI cannot replicate, because it is built on real, proprietary operational expertise rather than averaged public knowledge.”

Built for heavy industry

Facility-Agnostic Field Intelligence is designed for energy, manufacturing, aerospace, and other process-intensive sectors, where equipment is complex, procedures are exacting, and the cost of error is high. EON AI Ventures is working with leading energy and heavy-industry operators to deploy the approach, and is positioning Work Intelligence as a new enterprise system of record — the structured, living record of how skilled work is performed, alongside the established systems for resources, customers, and product lifecycle.

The company notes that responsible deployment in live industrial environments requires certified, intrinsically safe hardware for classified hazardous areas, resilient operation at the edge where connectivity is limited, and clear accountability that keeps a qualified human responsible for safety-critical decisions — design principles built into the platform from the start.

EON AI Ventures is rolling out the approach in phases, beginning with the recognition core across the core equipment library, followed by full procedural guidance on the highest-frequency equipment classes and progressive expansion of the competence library over time.
