IRVINE, CA – August 28, 2026 – EON AI Ventures today named Robot IQ, the component of its Work Intelligence platform that will allow an industrial task to be performed by a machine under the same standard, verification and scoring applied to a person.
EON does not build robots and does not intend to. The company supplies the layer that industrial robotics currently lacks: a structured account of what a task is, how it is correctly performed, what must be verified at each step, when it must be abandoned, and whether the execution met the standard.
That account is difficult to obtain and almost nowhere written down. A standard operating procedure records the steps in the order a competent person would already know them. It does not record the steps that are always performed differently from how they are written, the verifications a good operator adds, or the conditions under which the whole sequence should be stopped. Building a scored simulation requires all of it — which is why EON holds it.

A safety argument, not a labour one
EON’s position is limited to a narrow class of work: tasks performed rarely enough that nobody is truly practised at them, where the failure mode is fatal rather than costly, and where the person performing them is frequently not the operator’s own employee. In upstream oil and gas in 2024 there were 32 fatalities across 21 incidents, and 26 of those were contractors.
The company is explicit that this is not a claim of one-for-one role preservation. A crew of ten does not become ten people in a control room. It becomes a smaller number of people supervising, planning and intervening from a position where a mistake is expensive rather than fatal. What is being committed to now
The immediate commitment is a record, not a robot: a machine-readable form of the task decomposition EON already produces, logged as a by-product of work underway. The runtime component is named now and will be built when hardware capability and operator demand justify it. The reason for acting early is that the record cannot be reconstructed later — an organisation that begins capturing in three years begins from nothing.
Governance
Robot IQ operates within EON’s published data rights standard. Customer Data and Derived Insights remain the exclusive property of the customer. Only de-identified, class-bound Generalized Learnings are held in common, and EON does not license, sell or transfer that body of learnings as a dataset to any third party under any circumstances.
