New Sketch and Forge tiers put a tagged, walkable 3-D twin in a customer’s hands in minutes — and every twin states on screen how much of it is measured and how much is not.
IRVINE, CA – August 12, 2026 — EON AI Ventures today introduced the Twin Ladder for EON Universal, its industrial digital-twin platform. The Twin Ladder gives plant operators three ways to obtain a twin of their facility, at three levels of certainty — and, in a departure from industry practice, requires every twin to display which level it is standing on.
Digital twins of process plants have historically demanded weeks of site survey before a customer sees anything at all. The Twin Ladder removes that barrier at the entry point while keeping the survey-grade product intact at the top:
- TWIN SKETCH — built from a piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID), the standard engineering drawing every plant already holds. Parts are named with their real drawing tags and connections are proposed for human review. The spatial arrangement is illustrative, and the twin says so on screen, permanently.
- TWIN FORGE — the same twin dressed with real components from EON’s Living Library, so equipment looks and connects like the real hardware while the arrangement is still declared as drawing-derived.
- TWIN MIRROR — built from photographs of the plant itself, with real geometry, real positions, and a human confirming every pipe connection. Designated the Twin of Record, it is the tier intended for maintenance-system integration and field use.
An engineering drawing becomes a walkable twin
In a working trial on a customer-supplied P&ID package, EON Universal read the drawing and produced a twin carrying 198 named parts and 40 proposed connections, with no part or connection discarded without being reported. Machine reading of the drawing cost under five cents in compute.
Each twin built this way ships with a roll-call audit printed on screen: how many tags from the drawing were matched, how many were not, and the name of every one that was dropped. Where a drawing cannot be fully read by machine — as with drawings whose text is stored as outlined artwork — the audit labels its own census as partial rather than reporting a flattering percentage.
The differentiator: software that states what it does not know
Every EON Universal twin wears a tier badge that cannot be switched off. Screens report absences instead of hiding them: parts positioned from photographs are visually distinguished from parts positioned by measurement; components with no 3-D model are drawn as plainly labelled stand-ins that cannot be mistaken for real equipment; and a twin built from a drawing states in plain words that no photograph, survey, or machine was involved.
“A twin that looks surveyed but was not is the fastest way to lose a customer’s trust,” said Dan Lejerskar, founder of EON AI Ventures. “The moment an operator finds their pump on the wrong side of the skid, everything else you told them is in question. We would rather ship software that says what it does not know. That is the product.”
Built on the Living Library
All three tiers draw on EON’s Living Library — 363 industrial components in 3-D, 8000 subcomponents and 241 of them carrying real connection-point anchors so piping attaches where nozzles physically are. Each component is a Smart Component that knows its class, its connection points, and the limits of what it can represent in simulation. The library grows with every deployment.
Availability
Twin Sketch and Twin Forge are entering customer trials now. Twin Mirror remains in deployment with existing EON industrial customers. Organisations interested in a Twin Sketch of their own facility can begin with a single P&ID; no site visit is required.
