IRVINE, Calif. – July 24, 2026 – EON AI Ventures today introduced a public framework for Field IQ Edge, an offline-capable deployment profile of Field IQ designed to carry trusted Work Intelligence into industrial environments where connectivity may be degraded, unavailable or intentionally restricted. The framework also addresses a second field reality: some operating areas require phones, tablets, wearables and accessories that are specifically certified for the hazardous location in which they will be used. The deployment architecture, certification strategy, and technical framework are detailed in the accompanying white paper, “Intrinsically Safe Solution in Hazardous Industrial Environments.”
Field IQ Edge is designed to package only the intelligence required for a defined mission. A signed Mission Intelligence Package may combine equipment recognition, OCR and tag reading, approved local procedures, a relevant Digital Twin subset, deterministic workflow and safety gates, bounded language assistance, evidence capture and governed synchronization. The worker can continue the approved task locally and return evidence when connectivity becomes available.

A field-computing category that already exists
The hazardous-area device market now includes modern 5G smartphones, 10-inch tablets and hands-free wearables with manufacturer-declared ATEX, IECEx or North American hazardous-location certifications for specific models and configurations. This creates a practical path for testing offline visual recognition, local retrieval, guided workflows and evidence capture on real field hardware rather than consumer devices.
One experience across three connectivity states
- Connected: the device may use enterprise-scale models, simulation, collaboration and the complete Digital Twin.
- Degraded or site-local: the device continues the mission locally and may use an approved on-premises edge service.
- Offline: the device relies only on the signed local package, clearly exposes its limits and queues evidence for later synchronization.
Built around trust boundaries
The framework separates generative assistance from execution authority. AI components may recognize equipment, retrieve approved content, summarize sources, ask clarifying questions and recommend escalation. Deterministic services control asset confirmation, procedure sequence, prerequisites, permissions, stop conditions, evidence requirements, package validity and audit history. If identity is uncertain, content is stale or the task moves outside the authorized mission, the system is designed to clarify, stop or escalate rather than guess.
External white paper and pilot framework
